19 comics about our absurd life from an intelligent St. Petersburg punk (20 photos)
A native of Leningrad, Vladimir Lopatin fell in love with drawing as a child. He received the nickname “St. Petersburg punk” when he served in the army, and began publishing his works on the Internet under it. The artist’s favorite genre is witty one-page microcomic strips.
In addition, Vladimir is creating board games and is preparing to publish a second book with his humorous comics. The St. Petersburg resident draws inspiration from travel and joint creativity with his wife Antonina, who also draws and illustrates.
"I was born into a large family, and we lived quite poorly. As a child, it never occurred to me that I would create comics, earn money from it and travel the world. Could I imagine that in the future I would sit under the Eiffel tower, eat a sandwich and draw a comic about me sitting under the Eiffel Tower and eating a sandwich."
The author’s favorite topics are clear to everyone: our life, full of absurdity, stress and unexpected joys, crazy dependence on gadgets, professions with strange names, prices in stores that make your eyes pop out, slang, friends, love. More than 11 thousand people have already subscribed to the St. Petersburg artist’s VKontakte page.
