The artist remakes traditional images of famous people, transferring them into his pink world (37 photos)
Scott Sheidley is an Ohio-based artist currently residing in Orlando, Florida, who is a self-described surrealist at heart. And his series of images “The Pinks” really has something remotely from surrealism, in which Sheidley depicted well-known historical figures in a completely new light - fairytale pink.
The artist himself says that with this project he "explores the cultural and social consequences of color and symbolism, and how the predefined concepts that accompany these perceptions can change their identity and subsequent worldview."
Sheidley depicts either hypermasculinized or historically shameful figures and mocks them using social/sexual satire. The artist loves to make people laugh and this series of pictures really does that. “However, I receive negative comments from some people who, in a way, I also like. As long as I get people to think outside the box, I’m happy,” he says.
