Belgian illustrator Marcel Marlier considered drawing children his life's passion, and he was just great at it. It is difficult to find warmer and more beautiful children's drawings.
Marcel Marlier was born in Herseaux in 1930. Already at the age of ten, he amazed with his talent for drawing. Having received a diploma from the University of Saint-Luc de Tournai (Faculty of Decorative Arts), Marcel began teaching at a school in his hometown. In 1951, Marlier won a competition organized by the publishing house La Procure a Namur, and then the real work of the illustrator began. Over the years, Marlier illustrated hundreds of children's books, and in 1969 he even created his own series of books for children. The most famous works of Marcel Marlier can be seen in the world famous series of books about the girl Martina. Marcel Marlier died at the age of 80 in 2011.
