I present to your attention the paintings of a young Vietnamese artist living in Ukraine. Her name is Christina, and her last name is Nguyen. A series of beautiful city landscapes, with their urban scenes and the eternal theme of loneliness in the big city. Like me, she is in love with the city. Walking through an unfamiliar city, she is filled with an extraordinary feeling that is inherent in a city filled with people. She then reflects these feelings and emotions in her paintings.

Typically, the theme of urban painting is shared and loved by those who love to travel. The topic of overseas cities has been exciting the minds of mankind for centuries. Remember Tsar Saltan. On the island of Buyan, in the distant ocean, there stood a garden city. Or the Wizard of the Emerald City. Fairytale countries, outlandish cities and unfamiliar people have always attracted travelers and romantics. The discovery of India and America, also from the same area. Sailors of yesteryear, risking their lives, ventured into the vast expanses of the ocean to see distant countries with their own eyes.

Now, in the era of speed and the Internet, we just need to turn on the TV, type in an address on the Internet, download interesting pictures and we are in another country or on a desert island. But nothing will ever replace books and painting for us. These values will always remain with us. Tested for centuries.

Therefore, Christina’s aerial city sketches make us dream a little and imagine these overseas countries and these unknown islands. The presented paintings fully reflect her creativity and the artist’s inner world
