Gemma Gylling is an American artist specializing in animal painting.
Gemma is a California native. She grew up here on a small ranch, where she still lives. It was life on the ranch that instilled in the artist a love of nature and animals.
After several years of experimenting with oil paints, after taking classes from the famous artist Edgardo Garcia, her creative potential was fully revealed. and for many years she has been creating paintings depicting the diverse life of wildlife and animals.
The artist also experimented with colored pencils, attending seminars of famous artists who worked in this technique. Gemma developed her own technique for working with colored pencils and managed to achieve photo-realism in her works. Her method involves applying several layers of color using a pencil. The result mimics the look of oil or acrylic painting. When people see her work, they almost always say, "I can't believe this was done with colored pencils." Gemma is known for her attention to detail and unique skill with colored pencils. The artist’s paintings are often exhibited and eagerly purchased by lovers of animal painting.
