Josef Lauer (1818 - Vienna - 1881) - a prominent Austrian artist - a master of still lifes of the 19th century school.
He was a student at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna, studying with Sebastian Wegmayr, Joseph Massmer, Thomas Ender and Franz Steinfeld. From an early age he participated in exhibitions at the Academy of St. Anne, and then, in the 1860s, he exhibited his works at the Vienna Union of Artists. Since 1861, Josef Lauer has been a member of this union.
The artist's paintings are sold at international auctions for incredible prices.
