Alexey Dmitrievich Reipolsky was born in January 1945 in Leningrad. Graduated from the graphic department of the Institute. I. E. Repin. He worked as an art editor at the publishing houses "Detgiz" and "Artist of the RSFSR". First of all, Reipolsky is known as a master of book illustration. He illustrated more than 70 different publications. In the late 1970s-1980s, a series of fairy tales by Charles Perrault were published in his design: “The Sleeping Beauty”, “Cinderella”, “Little Red Riding Hood”, “Bluebeard”, “Tom Thumb”, “Rike the Tuft”, “Donkey skin". Illustrations by A. Reipolsky, stylized as a 17th century French engraving - illuminated etching (hand-painted prints).
It is believed that Reipolsky has the most “canonical” Cinderella outfit.
Alexey Dmitrievich’s works are kept in many museums across the country, as well as in the State Hermitage, the State Russian Museum, and in private collections in Russia and abroad.
