Illustrator Mel Crawford (64 works)
Mel Crawford was born in Canada in 1925. He served in the Canadian Navy during the Second World War. After the war he entered the Royal College of Art. Mel then came to the United States in 1940, where he worked for Disney Studios. He worked in animation for a while, but didn't like repetition. I started working on backgrounds and then on book and cover illustrations. Early in his career he used watercolors, but now he prefers acrylics. During his life he illustrated more than 200 books.
