Alfred Wahlberg (1834-1906) - famous Swedish artist. His father was a metropolitan designer, his mother was the daughter of an Italian sculptor. They first prepared a career as a musician for their son - they assigned him to study piano at the Stockholm Municipal Academy. But the young man himself, having shown character, ultimately chose the fate of an artist. His creative path was difficult. Suffice it to say that the first painting (and even then for a pittance) was sold only at the age of 23. Then there was study in Germany, Holland, Belgium, a return to Stockholm and a new search for his own place in art. Ten years later, a new trip for science followed - this time to France. And in 1868, at the next famous Paris Salon, the long-awaited success finally came. And then everything worked out in an ascending manner - in 1878 at the World Fair - a 1st class medal, in 1880 membership in the Swedish Academy, a professorship... And, of course, well-deserved fame, popularity, paintings in authoritative collections.
