Afonin Alexander Pavlovich
Alexander Afonin is a painter of rare conviction and loyalty to his deeds, which he does not betray under any circumstances. His path is the path of a man in whose work, gradually from picture to picture, a clear connection with the history of Russia, inseparably fused with the Orthodox faith of its people, emerges.
Born in 1966, in the city of Kursk, in the family of an art teacher.
In Kursk in 1982 he graduated from art school,
and in 1986 - Zheleznogorsk Art School.
In 1989 – 1995 he studied at the Russian Academy of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture,
after which he was left there,
for teaching work at the department of landscape painting.
Upon completion of graduate school (1997 – 1999),
The artist was awarded the title of Associate Professor of Painting,
with appointment to the position of head of a landscape workshop.
Afonin's paintings can be divided into three groups: lyrical landscapes; landscapes associated with Russian history, and works based on a religious plot.
Each master’s work has his own favorite motifs,
a special system of feelings and their own methods of conveying them.
Life is varied and multifaceted,
but the artist chooses what is closest to him.
In 1993 - 1994, Alexander Pavlovich painted a number of landscapes dedicated to the Kursk land. The artist annually participates in art exhibitions,
held in Moscow and St. Petersburg.
In 2001, his paintings were reproduced in the album “Modern Russian Realism”, and in 2003 a personal album was published
“Alexander and Saida Afonin. New names of Russian realism".
Both albums were published in Moscow.
In 2004, the Artist was awarded the title “Honored Artist of the Russian Federation”
