The basis for the albums “Ornament of all times and styles” was the publication “L’Ornement polychrome”, published in Paris in 1888 under the editorship of Auguste Racine, who did a great job exploring various primary sources, grouping numerous subjects from different countries, eras and styles into harmonious and well-designed ornamental tables, characterized by strict systematization.
Several hundred colored ornamental tables, here and there using gold and silver, containing several thousand subjects of all styles. The tables represent Ancient art, Asian art, Medieval art, Renaissance, XVII-XIX centuries. We hope that the publication will not only give you aesthetic pleasure, but will also bring practical benefits, since the areas of application of the ornament are very diverse.
The album is distinguished by a successful selection of subjects drawn from primary sources, a skillful grouping of these numerous subjects into harmonious and well-thought-out compositions, severe precision of drawing and correct color, as well as strict systematization.
The original color tables reproduced in the album, first published at the end of the last century by A. Sh. products) and architecture (painting, carving, relief).
Somewhat “modernized” annotations help the reader navigate the endless variety of ornamental creativity that was born in ancient times and continues to develop in our time.
