Tatyana Barakova - About myself:
Born in Leningrad. While studying at school, I studied at the Palace of Pioneers and learned to draw. Then she graduated from art school. After school, I decided to enroll as a fashion designer at a textile institute, but, having missed half a grade, I entered LITMO (I don’t know why). She graduated from college, worked, got married, gave birth to a daughter.

I always sewed toys from fabric and decorated the house with them and gave them to relatives and friends. I dreamed of taking a doll-making course, but there was nothing like that in our city at the time.

As soon as Galina Ishimikli’s school opened, I was in the first enrollment. And so it went: at first I made dolls from plastic, but later, having learned about the technique of dry felting and felting my first bunny, I realized that wool is the very material that I like to work with more than with others..
Now I work as a manager in a construction company, for about 3 years I have been making designer dolls from wool, and I teach a felting course at the St. Petersburg school of designer dolls.
